Bugaboo Day 5 Holiday Chaos 2017 - Humour Me Wed.

Bugaboo Day 5  - Holiday Chaos 2017-  Humor Me Wed. at Catch the Bug Challenge Blog

Here it is day 5 already. The Catch the Bug challenge today is to make something with humour in it. Hope I succeeded with this poor doggy and his attempt to join the reindeer pulling Santa's sled. He does look a little forlorn does he not.

I used a Bugaboo image called 'Puppy - enough reindeer'. He is just so cute and the fun sentiment is part of the set. The large white snowflake is 'Impression Obsession DIE024-X'. The sentiment tag  holder from Spellbinders 'Fancy Tags' and the background was embossed with  Stampin' Up's Falling Snowflakers embossing folder. I used a Martha Stewart punch for the  fancy strip  behind the image.

Crafty Cardmakers Challenge #201 Animal Magic

Crafty Cardmakers Challenge #201  Animal Magic
Kim is hosting our challenge this fortnight and  her challenge is 'Animal Magic' We would love to see your creations  based on an animal theme. Please make sure that your project has an animal big enough for us to see. We are excluding insects,  so no butterflies, bugs or bee's etc for this challenge.  Your project may still have them but not as your animal.

I choose a swan and her family for my 'animal'. A swan is from  the Kingdom of Animial so I thought it would suffice. Definitely not an insect.

I created the background by sponging  the sky and water with several shades of blue ink
. The swan and family are from a Flourishes stamp set called 'Swan Lake'.   I stamped the top shoreline  with a grass stamp from an old Kitty Kits stamp set and hand drew some of the foliage over the stamped image.  The bottom foliage is stamped from the same  Flourishes 'Swan Lake' stamp set. The leaves in the top left corner are from a Memory Box die set titled 'Fabulous Phlox'. The 'peaceful waters' letters are from an alphabet die set.

Crafty Cardmakers Challenge 197- Fancy Folds

Crafty Cardmakers Challenge 197 - Fancy Folds

Time for another challenge at Crafty Cardmakers  and this fortnight the challenge is 'Fancy Folds'.  Hosting this challenge is Margaret. Please note: this particular challenge is for cards only.

I choose this ever so easy center fold . Cut out an eight x six inch piece of  cardstock, score vertically at 2, 3, 5 1/2  and 6 1/2 inches and fold accordingly. Cut out a 3 3/4 inch square. This is your card base, decorate as you like.  So very easy! I choose to add decorative paper  within a brown border., added a colour coordinated flower, some trailing vines and a sentiment cut from a die . I also added a decorative strip to the  two one inch stripes that make up the side of center folded part of the card. I adhered the square center piece  to the center fold with tape.

This will fold up to a  six by 4 1/2 inch  card.

Cardstock: Stampin Up 'Bermuda Bay', Early Expresso

Bugaboo  'Catch the Bug' Christmas in July 2017 Challenge  Day 5 Photo Challenge

The inspiration I felt when I saw this photo was to create something that expressed a bit of  how tiresome  winter can be,  the days when  you long for  summer as you watch the snow come down.  I also liked the colours of the umbrella and decided to use them . Bugaboo Christmas in July 2017 Day 2 Sketch Challenge

Bugaboo's 'Catch the Bug' Christmas in July 2017 Challenge Day 2 - Sketch

Today I choose the wonderful Bugaboo digital stamp 'xmas trio block' for my image I could not find in in their current shop, so maybe it has not been transferred yet from their old one. I made the Santa dimensional  by  printing the digi twice, colouring the Santa on one,  cutting  it out,  and popping  it up over the other one.   The sentiment is an old one from a  ticket stamp set  I have  from Whimsy Stamps. I taped off the unwanted  lines . inked it up, removed the paper and stamped the sentiment. The snowflakes are from Martha Stewart punches and the smallest ones are from a old punch I bought at Michaels.

Crafty Cardmakers Challenge 192 - Tic, Tac, Toe

Crafty Cardmakers Challenge #192 -  Tic, Tac, Toe

Marlene  is hosting our challenge today and the theme is Tic, Tac, Toe.

As usual anything you enter is fine , a card, a scrap layout, a mixed media piece, some home decor,  as long as it matches the theme. I choose the line  of Gem or Pearls, Stamp or Digi, and Die Cuts

The card stock is Stampin' Up's,  the designer paper is from 'DCWV  The Princess Stack' and the doily  is a Marianne Designs die.The image and sentiment are from a Doodle Pantry  set called 'Quirky Stork' (no longer available). The other die cuts are   Spellbinders  deckled rectangles,\ and  scalloped circles;

Misc.:  red rhinestones, white half pearl, small red half pearl, little pale pink bow
