Doodle Pantry Sponsors 'Paper Playtime': Theme Red,White and Blue

Doodle Pantry is sponsoring  the challenge at Paper Playtime this week and the theme is 'red, white and blue'.   I know with July 4th  just around corner  they will probably be expecting something  a little more patriotic than a Christmas kitty-lol.  However, this is my take on red, white and blue. The blue is a very gentle colour  called 'soft sky' by Stampin' UP. Looks somewhat green (to my eyes) until you put something green up against it (which I did) then it becomes blue:o).

If you have time go take a look at (Paper Playtime) and perhaps play along, you could win a Doodle Pantry prize. WooHoo!!!!!

Well summer 2011 is here after a very wet spring and one horrible winter:) Here is my card  and a picture of my back yard to celebrate it. It was a long time coming..Two robins's had just finished taking a bath and I was trying to capture the moment. Not being that great of a photographer I missed it (did not even come close lol). Metal Babe

Metal Babe is a digital stamp from Kenny K and she reminded me of several of my son's friends (girls) who play 'rock band' (I think that is what it is called). I recall wishing it had never been invented when they were playing it in my family room, but alas, they and the rock band are gone, as is my son and  sometimes I miss even the sound of that music. Only sometimes mind you -lol. Oh well they were and are all good kids. My son just moved out a month ago and I am still going through empty nest syndrome:)

Turtle Birthday

Doodle Pantry is having a new release today (June5th,2011) and this wonderful turtle is one of the releases. The digital stamp set is called 'Patriotic Turtle' and comes in coloured and non coloured versions. I choose the uncoloured version only because I wanted a little different colour scheme. Doodle Pantry's coloured versions are so wonderful  they are very tempting to use! I also had a new Spellbinders die cut called 'Reverse Wonky' so decided to go with it. Kinda like the end result, makes for a good little boy card.

There is also new challenge at  Doodle Pantry (DPDC#13) which is to use a Doodle Pantry Image and you get a digital stamp set free (Patriotic Turtle see challenge info here). You also have a chance of winning (random selection) a gift certificate to use at the Doodle Pantry shop)
